Ausmusic T-Shirt Day
Support Act Music Trivia for Ausmusic T-Shirt Day using Kahoot
Support Act is delighted to offer participants in this year’s Ausmusic T-Shirt Day the opportunity to have some fun with colleagues / friends / family by playing music trivia online. You can even play the games yourself if you wish to test your knowledge of Aussie Music!
With thanks to Sounds Australia, we have developed 6 music trivia games that can be played on your computer or phone.
Each game runs for around 20mins, and you can play as many or as few as you like, with as many people as you like.
Here are some instructions to make setting up and playing Ausmusic T-Shirt Day Music Trivia as quick and easy as possible.
Preparation and Set Up
There are a few options for playing the games. They can be played with groups via video conference (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams etc.) or by groups in person. You may also play hybrid games with some in person and others dialing in.
The ‘Quiz Master’ should send out an invite ahead of time to those who want to participate in the trivia games, inviting them to join a video conference and/or at the nominated venue at the agreed time.
Regardless of whether you are playing video conference or in person, players can join the games by using their device of choice - computer, ipad or phone. If players are using their phones, they might like to download the Kahoot app and play using the app. Alternatively, they can use their browser. (The web address is simply: www.kahoot.it).
Support Act has created 6 music trivia games to play. As Quiz Master, you can select which game(s) to play by clicking on the link(s) below. Please click “Play” and then select “Present”. On the next screen, please select “Player vs. Player” and your quiz will launch.
If you are playing via video conference you will need to share your screen with attendees once you are ready to start.
When you click the link, you need to look for “Play as a Guest”, then click Play/Classic and a unique game PIN number will be generated. You will need to instruct participants to go to https://kahoot.it/ in their browser, or go to the kahoot! App on their phones, and enter this unique game PIN number to join the game. If you are playing multiple games, each game will have a separate PIN number.
Once people have created their profile and entered the game PIN, they will appear on the Quiz Master’s screen via their username of choice.
Playing the Game
Once everyone is ready, you can start playing the game.
As Quiz Master, you will trigger each new question. Please note some are multiple choice, others require participants to enter a written answer, complete a quiz or identify if something is True or False.
There is a time limit for each question, but there are also additional points for answering the fastest.
For written answers, Quiz Masters have the option to mark individual answers as being correct if they have been marked incorrect due to a mis-spelling etc
Points are awarded after each question which allows you to track the progress of all players.
At the end of the game, the top 3 players appear on the virtual podium.
Ending the Game
Close the browser tab to finish your session.
It is likely you had so much fun that you will want to play more, in which case you will need to click another game from the links above.
